MKS Finance SA - Geneva Thursday, 29 June 2006After another day of a weak Comex close, gold was paid on access toopen two dollars above the Thursday’s close of $578.50/579 in Tocom. TheJapanese stayed sidelined and the metal fluctuated within a very narrow twodollar range. In Europe the yellow metal remained largely stagnant andfixed at 581.75 on the first London fix, 2.25 dollars down from theprevious AM.

The metal found some supportfrom the drop in the US dollar against the yen after comments by the Bankof Japan Governor, Toshihiko Fukui, who suggested that the bank would liftinterest rates.
