MKS Finance SA - Geneva Thursday, 12-October-2006 It was a very boring day in Asia. Gold traded in a three dollarrange, limited to $575 on the upside. In Europe the metal extended theovernight high to at first $576.50 per ounce to fix just 60 cents below thepeak. The prices started to gradually weaken from there. After the openingof the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, the worse thanexpected US economic data did not provide enough support for the yellowmetal to acquire gains, along with Brent for November delivery tradingbelow $59 per barrel.

The market challenged theupside, but could not reach the $580 resistance due to the great amounts ofselling interest at these levels. As soon as buying dried up general publicstarted to liquidate their long positions, bringing us to the low of$576.70.

MKS Finance SA - Geneva Monday, 9-October-2006 Gold closed around $573 levels on Friday to continue trading in avery thin and choppy access market as Tokyo was out on a public holiday andthere was no CBOT. The yellow metal challenged the upside on the news ofNorth Korea’s first-ever nuclear weapons test, which forced Japanese yen tohit 8-month high verses US dollar. North Korea said today that it conductedan underground nuclear test despite the warning from the UN SecurityCouncil of a risk of fresh sanctions.

MKS Finance SA - Geneva Friday, 6-October-2006 Gold edged higher on access to reach a peak of $573.70 after theclose of the NY session Thursday. As soon as buying dried up the metalweakened down to $572 levels prior to Tocom opening. During the Asiantrading hours prices dropped further to hit the low of $569.70, butrecovered most of the losses by the close.

MKS Finance SA - Geneva Thursday, 5-October-2006 Gold opened slightly higher on Tocom, and after a brief dip due tothe selling by the general public the metal challenged the $570 level. Themarket was capped at $570.50 and prices dropped down to $563 prettyquickly. The yellow metal opened near the overnight lows in Europe toextend it to $562.50 during the first hour of trade.

MKS Finance SA - Geneva Wednesday, 4-October-2006 Gold continued to be heavily sold on access after NY close lastnight. The prices dropped down to $574.50 before rebounding slightly priorto Tocom opening. Tocom was limit down except for the nearest contractswith enormous amounts of offers accumulated in the market. The yellow metalstruggled to break above $577 level with the physical related buying notable to absorb all the selling.

Selling continued from the general public, dragging theprices down to $595.50. Short covering and physical demand emerged afterthe dip helping spot to rally up to $598, where buyers turned into sellersagain and the yellow metal lost some ground.

The pricesinitially dipped down to $600.30, but subsequently rallied higher. Theupside was however limited to $602.80 as overseas traders had sellinginterest at these levels.

Razones por las que el oro vuelve a brillar

Madrid, 1 de Octubre 2006. Las fluctuaciones en el precio del oro estos últimos meses no han sido aptas para cardiacos. El metal que alcanzaba los 730$ la onza en el mes de mayo, caía hasta los 560$ en junio para regresar a los 660$ en julio y de nuevo volver a resbalar hasta los 570$ en el mes de septiembre, una verdadera montaña rusa.Estas últimas dos semanas el oro esta volviendo a retomar su senda alcista y ha recuperado el nivel de los 600$ la onza.
