MKS Finance SA - Geneva Monday, 19-March-2007 Gold was fairly active on the electronic trading after Friday’s closeof $653.25. Prices surged two dollars in very illiquid market conditions,but got capped by Hong Kong and Tokyo traders selling around $655 levelsand gave away the gains.

The yellow metal opened the TOCOM session $648 and shortly began to move lower despite a weakening dollar. In an atmosphere of limited interest the precious metal finally close at $647.30.
