El Banco de España vende una gran parte de sus reservas de oro

OroyFinanzas, 30 de mayo 2007. Estos últimos meses las ventas de oro de los Bancos Centrales Europeos han sido inusualmente altas. No habían vendido tanto oro, desde la firma del segundo Central Bank Gold Agreement, en Septiembre del 2004, en el cual limitaban las ventas conjuntas de los 15 bancos firmantes a 500 toneladas anuales hasta Septiembre del 2009.

La producción mundial de Oro ¿ Que esta pasando ?

OroyFinanzas, 25 de mayo 2007. La producción mundial de oro cae en picado. Según las compañías mineras la producción seguirá cayendo a no ser que aumenten los precios del oro y así lo reflejan los datos de los principales países punteros en minería. Entre los años 1997 y el 2002 el sector rebajo las inversiones en exploraciones de oro un 67%.

MKS Finance SA - Geneva Thursday, 24-May-2007 Gold opened above $660 on Tocom but got capped around $662.50 perounce by profit taking. In Europe the very narrow range above $660prevailed. The yellow metal was helped by Brent crude riring above $71 abarrel, setting 9-months high, on worries over oil producer Iran’s disputewith the West over its nuclear work.

The Banco de España´s holdings of foreign currencies and gold have fallen to €13.2bn (£9.02bn), equivalent to 12 days of imports, according to their website. Last week saw a continuation of their sales of gold of, possibly, in the region of 10 to 15 tonnes more.Over the past two months the Banco de España has sold off 80 tonnes of gold.

With very thin volume traded overnight, the metalwas little active. In Europe gold started its trading session on the highsin the morning, followed by a drop down to $657.6 and a subsequent turnaround.
